Rob's Frostgrave Project (new pictures added page 2)
« on: July 31, 2015, 03:47:06 PM »
I have started my Frostgrave project in earnest now. I began by stock taking all my old fantasy and warhammer figures to see if there was anything I could use.

Here are a few wandering monsters for my Frostgrave board. I are ones I have had kicking around for ages but never used. I have re-based them to match my Frostgrave figures and terrain.

An Ice Golem (Large Construct) -by Reaper

A Vampire from Heresy Miniatures

I have more stuff to follow

Lovely work!

Is the Ice Golem the plastic (Bones) version or the older metal one?
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

He was the metal one. I painted him years ago for my superhero game. I just rebased him for Frostgrave.

Good start!

If you have any Malifaux (particularly some of the Arcanists, Neverborn and Resurrectionist models), they might work well too - as henchmen, summoned troops, and random encounters.

That vampire looks suitably foreboding, more Max Shrek than Christopher Lee

Nice job  I have that reaper golem done in sand tones but I love ho you did him very icy looking
Barbarella: What's that screaming? A good many dramatic situations begin with screaming...

Top work mate; I've just ordered that Vampire alongside some Ghouls and characters from Heresy. Heresy have some great miniatures in their range for Frostgrave warbands and creatures.

I really like your basing style too, you've perfectly captured the snowbound urban ruins :)

I am glad you like them so far. Here are a few more wandering monsters.

Cave bear- by Reaper

Book Golem (Medium Construct) by Black Cat Bases (I think)

Sadly I think BCB are no longer trading, but I think that the book golem is spot on for Frostgrave...left over from some long dead wizard's protection spell. I just need to buy a ruined library for it to hang round in.

The book golem is brilliant. I've checked the Black Cat Bases website and it seems to work. The reasons were apparently unfortunate: "I apologise for the delay on dispatch of orders, this has been due to severe and unexpected ill health."

There is actually lot of interesting stuff for Frostgrave libraries! http://blackcatbases.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=437_563

Brilliant work!

I wondered if the book golem model was the reason for the rulebook's mention of paper constructs. I'm certainly tempted to get one now there's a definite use for it.

Blackcat do indeed carry a lot of cool stuff.

However:

http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=59375.255

Presented with it took my last order from them (back in march this year) three months to process, as the only additional comment from me.

Well, ok, that and I hope things are on the up for the folks at Blackcat.
