I like the way you've done the white shirts, is that over a blue base or with a blue ink wash? Either way I like it...and will probably copy it whole hearted since I have exactly the same figures waiting on my paint table :)

No ink on the white shirts: Citadel Codex Grey as a base-coat. Mid tone of Fortress Grey then two coats of Skull White.

Thanks for the recipe? No blue? Maybe my eyes are failing :)

Hmmm, but maybe I'll cut the gray basecoats with a little blue tone to see how it looks!

Citadel greys are notoriously bluey though, they don't seem to be able to make one in a "true" grey. If such a thing exists!

BTW: I've replaced the fuzzy photos with slightly better ones!

Freddie Suggs - Young and excitable Pilot. He'll take any cargo to the roughest airfield in the back of beyond. No questions asked. No guarantees of a safe landing!

To go with Freddie, more of the crew from Withnail & Co. (a struggling air transport company based in central Asia):

Captain Archie Haggan - Likeable American officer, the guy who gets the others organised.

I'm quite pleased with my "Chinese calligraphy"!

Lord Withnail - the company owner. Determined, stern and brash.  A little too fond of the booze.

Great paint jobs and some great "characters" you're developing.

Great work! The nice part about a struggling air freight company is that they can set up shop anywhere in the world. Asia not working out? Maybe Brazil will be better?

Last night's painting work:

Some "Grade 1s" the Security section for Withnail & Co Air Freight. All used to be serving military in Lord Withnail's regiment after the end of the Great War. They now work for their old boss again, but in a less formal roll.
(All names from spam e-mails recieved this week! )

Ray Carter. Bergmann MP28 armed ex-soldier.

John Patterson. Another ex-soldier with a Bergmann MP28

Stanley Edmundson. Yet another ex-soldier but armed with a Mauser "Broomhandle"

Edit: These three Airpship Pirate models have all been re-painted as the bad guys, and can be found here: Thrilling Tales: Air Pirates

I love 'em! When completed, you have to make sure to get a group shot of them in their hangar (or at their dock if it's a sea plane). Then, we'll make it sepia toned and you can hang it on the wall.  :D

Thanks Rich! But I'll also have to build the hangar and the plane!

A couple more characters to add to Jack Denham's party:

Max Griffin, cigar-chomping loud-mouth. Provides muscle and firepower for the group. Armed with a BAR and a revolver.

Sonny Calvert, the writer for Denham's film project. (Not an archaeologist!) Armed with a .45 automatic and a whip.

With the prospect of a game of 45 Adventure tonight I did some work on my Pulp collection over the weekend! (Battle Report here)

Two more flyers for Withnail & Co. and my first pulp vehicle:

Meredith Holbrook - short-tempered adventuress.

Zilly Messick - cowardly gunner and navigator for Freddie Suggs.

A truck! tatty but reliable!
