Oh I know exactly what you mean (I come to it because I am a fan of westerns and Moebius, not because I'm any particular fan of Charlier's writing). Classic Western though.

A lot of people don't realize this, but the Blueberry strip was one of the first ever Westerns or comic books to have the hero be a bad, dirty, anti-hero. It was also one of the first to systematically destroy the hero's life. Obviously both are common events now, part of the standard suite of plots for comics, westerns and such, so it seems unremarkable for a modern strip, but it was an incredible pioneering work at the time.

! I know my painting skills are ok at best, but I really think they have come out nicely this time, the 'face-lift' being a success so far if I may say so myself. I also try to stay away from painting them all in shades of brown/ black clothes, instead taking my small collection of paint pots and 'rotating' them. As in 'this colour has not been used this time around, you'll have a pink hat then

I try to stay focused and when time/ energy allows I do them in threes which keeps my interest and in the meantime I concoct some highly dubious backstory to them

Thank you very much for the comment, glad you enjoy my paintings. I'm quite happy with the results myself, but being an RPGer for 25+ years I inevitably come up with some background story while I paint. Sometimes it's just a thought, sometimes it's the way a particular sculpt is positioned. But be sure every mini will tell its story while I paint

Thank you! Yes, it is indeed the strong tone and it has made a lot of difference to my basic painting. Well, why do you think he's sporting TWO guns nowadays???
