Frostgrave & Dungeon Saga Mantic?
« on: August 10, 2015, 09:47:09 AM »
I saw that matic partnered somehow with NS for some undead encounters.

Then I was wondering if all the new stuff coming from Mantic with Dungeon Saga migh be used in Frsotgrave... what do you think?

It would certainly fill out the bestiary.

The basic and advanced version of the magic user would make a good wizard and apprentice as well.

There should certainly be a use for many of the DS minis in Frostgrave.  I'm not sure that the systems themselves are particularly compatible.
On the Mantic forum we have a thread discussing using Frostgrave games to affect kings of War battles.
The background of Frostgrave echoes that of Mantica's Age of Winter, with cities at last thawing out of the ice.

There are certainly some nice treasure tokens to be had as well as the hero/undead minis.

And Frostgrave should be perfectly playable on dungeon tiles, would make for an interesting scenario.

I wouldn't buy it just for Frostgrave, but as I had a moment of madness and went in for the Kickstarter at base game plus all expansions, I'll certainly be seeing what can serve a purpose in my current 'Grave obsession.

Same here getting the lot from the ks and really looking forward to having access to lots of options for the beastiery and dungeon furniture to dress the table some more

I saw the dragon at the last Open Day.  Despite being 'only board game plastic' the detail was great.  Really looking forward to getting these. :)

There's a nice selection of miniatures in the new game, but I'm really not a fan of the new plastic they're using (the "board game quality" stuff). It's a nightmare to clean up without destroying the detail and with Mantic's casting quality these days, clean up is essential.

I've seen them in the flesh and the plastic is different to the mars attacks stuff...much better quality....its better than the dreadball extreme stuff too.  Its being manufctured by dust studios

I will be getting lots of Dungeon Saga goodies soon too and will happily use the minis in Frostgrave (and vice versa).

I see some custom wandering monster tables coming when the 4 (5?) sets of DS land at the club... ;)

When I got the Frsotgrave book, I went through the monster table and ticked off those from DS (and from Bones III)
