Another warband assembles....
« on: June 16, 2016, 12:09:50 PM »
Hi,

I'm new to Frostgrave. I bought the book because of the old skool GW feel to it, akin like what is in Blood Bowl. You know that luck is a big part of it, so you got to plan around the dices.

Here are the first two members of my voodoo themed warband (can be used as a good voodoo (Witch) or bad voodoo (Necromancer).

So first, Sneaky the Goblin thief ("What to you mean am I compensating for something?")

and Bob the zombie ("Liveeeeeerrrr") Because voodoo without zombies is not really voodoo

Yes these are old Heroquest miniatures. I enjoyed painting them a lot. There is a kind of elegant simplicity to these old monocast figs that you do not find anymore with the over details monsters of today.

And now, Syndrom Carpal, the archer ("Don't call me a skeletton!")

A sculp with problems, it's a Bone after all, but turned much better than expected.

:o (The one that created the world spoke to me)  :o

 :)

Thanks.

The scult is indeed very cool, if you exclude the left arm. It is a nice surprise that Bones can produce a good looking skellie.

Also, it has a nice old skool vibe to it.

The next two members (Sorry for the long silence, RL is interfering with my plans)

Pinky the skav...ratman thief "But I am telling you that this is burgundy!"

And Sir Basil, the Basilisk as the Warhound (I know now it is an official monster, but it was not when I started to paint it)

Sorry, RL got in the way and then the weather.

3 new members

Scarface the Demonette Archer "Actually I prefer the term Deamonperson."

Da Suhl Hunta, tracker "It is not about money. it's about u suhl!"

Spikey, Ghoul graverobber (Thief) "I know it looks painfull and believe me, it is!" (I hate the sculpt with a passion but I'm happy how it turned out)

Finally, 6 treasures.

A test gnoll. To use as a Men at arm, Knight or monster.

It is a Reaper Bones figure, the scale is much bigger than the Frostgrave ones, more in line with the D&D description (near 3 meters). To show, the base is 40mm.

Nice work. Yeah, those Reaper gnolls are massive compare to the Northstar ones. I've got one that I use as a gnoll chieftain.

A Thug.

I do not plan on using a Thug, but these old Heroquest figs are so much fun to paint. I used him to test colors and techniques. No my best fig, but a lot of fun and tabletop ready.
