And of course Bronze Age had been making rather lovely JC figures!

In the EU, works remain in copyright for 70 years after the death of the author.  Edgar Rice Burroughs died in 1950, so John Carter will not be in the public domain here for another 5 years.

Indeed the works are public domain in most of the world but the terms John Carter, Barsoom etc. are trademarks protected by ERB Inc.
Still remains to be seen if it will be any more successful than the various "not Barsoom" games that have been available for sometime.

I must have had him confused with R.E. Howard....
