Sorry WuZhuiQiu for taking so long to reply but I bought these on evilBay so I can't answer your question :'(

In the meantime.........

The situation within the Dogmeat General's western provinces worsens as the bandit leadership improves and cadres develop. Looks like there is nothing to do but raise taxes and actually pay one or two of his battalions. Of course, some of that can be skimmed off for that new blue silk uniform with jeweled medals that he has been eyeing.

Then there is that chanteuse at the Paramont in Shanghai, hmmmm

Ummmm - raising taxes that sounds like a good idea o_o

Lovely figures, look forward to the next lot.

Cheers,
Your thread has really motivated me. I'm plodding away seven figures into some 'Pulp' Chinese ( more cinematic than historic.) wondering if my daft interpretations had any place.
Definitely feel like carrying on with them now,and I'm intrigued as to what you come up with next.

Mark.

Thanks all! I recommend all to see the excellent work being done on Chinese Warlord units in the current LPL. Some damn fine painting! Anyway, on to the latest post about the ongoing activities within the Dogmeat General's AOR...…..

It looks to be another poor harvest in the Dogmeat General's provinces. The General refers to this as Hostess Season. He routinely sends his troops around buying up younger daughters of the peasantry to work in his silk factories in Shanghai and to act as his "hostesses" in some of his more unsavory institutions. Yes, he is a pig (hate the General and not your dear Narrator). Inevitably this spawns a new group of bandits to plague the peasants and stir the somnolent Provincial Militia to work. Here is the newest group of bully boys to wreak havoc in these benighted section of the Back of Beyond.

They have joined up withan established bandit group that so far has eluded the less than sterling efforts of the Dogmeat Generals' Reserve Infantry company and his Railroad Police.

Attached are also some pictures of the local bandits making a nuisance of themselves within the province. I know that it looks like they will overwhelm the local spear levee. However, remember that most of the bandits have two or three bullets between them. Never mind the many ammunition bandoleers. They are merely wishful thinking. The spear levee are fighting for their homes and harvests and their pointy spear (yes, I know that they are pikes) require no reloads.  In addition, the bandits are reluctant to get stuck in, as wounded bandits tend to become abandoned corpses in short order.

Critique and commentary are welcome as always.

Bandit problems continue to bedevil the Dogmeat General's provinces. Surely it can not be because of his less than benevolent taxation policies? Oh well, a warlord general has got to eat, compete with his fellow warlords, and keep his concubines in jade and pearls. On the other end of the social spectrum it appears that the peasants are getting restless and willing to pick up any old piece of sharpened ironmongery in order to transfer the wealth to their own pockets. Here are some of those fellows in the flesh.

and another view

The pictures may appear to be a bit blurry because they were taken over the shoulder at the run. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
