is your mat just felt or fabric covered in loose sand/shake or more permanently glued down material?  Really works well!

I passed on the thread for the 'mat maker' to have his say...I didn't make it. The mat is a kind of thin plastic sheeting that has flex which has a heavy dose of silicone spread on it and then scatter on top...I'm not sure of the exact process though.
