Lots of great inspiration here. Where did you buy or how are you making your icicles?

The icicles are from an old box of accessories for model railroad from Faller:

I got them on eBay.  They still produce similar icicles, but now in a set with houses:

That is a gorgeous looking board!  Really love the way it all looks but I was wondering if you found the height a challenge for during the game, especially around the edges.  We use a mishmash of largely 40k cityscape terrain at my FLGS when we play Frostgrave but there have been a number of times that the height has made checking line of sight almost impossible.

Last Christmas brought me a Targetlock Laser line from Armypainter.
See http://shop.thearmypainter.com/products.php?ProductGroupId=5
It helps a lot.
More problems with the height come from clothes: woollen pullover and similar clothing tends to entangle with the buildings when players move their warbands. Sometime this causes a catastrophic collapse of terrain... But I think that's the risk, when you visit a ruined magical town  :D

'bout the best terrain board and pieces I've had the pleasure to see online. Feel like you've had a great game, just seeing the photo of it.

not sure why some above had to mock concerning the domes, as I think they're great ... seriously - quick guide to how you put them together?

Thanks for your kind words!

Concerning the domes: most of them are are made from polystyrene balls. I just cut them half. With stripes from cardboard the domes become more structure. The top of the dome is made from a hirstart form: Turret Mold #61 (the mold includes a complete domed roof, which I used as an alternative to the polystyrene balls. But the balls are cheaper, easier to made in my opinion and they weigh much less). Then everything is sprayed with spray paint in a bronze colour tone. The last step is to paint the cardboard stripes and the top in Citadel Nihilakh Oxide. And of course to add snow and icicles.
