Building the West African Republic. Will update regularly.
« on: August 21, 2015, 12:56:53 PM »
Ok, so I have never before built a single piece of terrain but some time must be the first. I made a try at modern day Africa.

(All houses are made out of cardboard, due to acute space shortage at home. They all need to be disassembled after use.)

Please feel free to comment!

Good go. I would only advise you to paint up the palm tree. This is avery good first effort.

Nice, it really feels like a fishermen village on the western sea-side.

Not bad at all for your first bit of terrain modelling. Well done for giving it a go. The more you make, the better you'll get at it  :)

+1 to what the Captain said, but you're well on your way (tires on the roof are a very nice touch).

Great first try.
Building terrain is lots of fun. lol
But really, it is.
I think I have done  terrain building in the last 5 years than painting.
Look forward to seeing what you do next.

That is very good for a first attempt.
I remember mine and it was nowhere near as good.
You have an eye for small details which always bring scenic items to life.
 :D

The Captain is right.
Keep going, you may surprise yourself.

What he did not tell you, though, is that it is very addictive.
You have been warned!

Thanks for all the support! I will definitely keep posting my future creations.

And yes, it is extremely addictive!

I actually visited Ghana this summer and learned one thing that is (and should be in your scenery, do you wish it to be realistic) ever present wherever you look: garbage. Sadly both cities, beaches and countryside is littered with plastics. My next piece of scenery is the village dump, usually located close to the communal toilets. Add some pigs and a goat and voila!

Sadly, a lot of Africa looks like that. To give an example: We changed diaper on our son on the side of the road and our driver just threw the used diaper in the forest.

I like your terrain. You could also use it for near future UK/Anywhere type buildings.
