German Chocolate posters?
« on: October 19, 2008, 08:34:40 PM »
I'm looking for online pics of 1930's/1940's German chocolate advertisements.
Or, lacking that, any german ads from the period.
I need it for some demented project I'm working on.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried Allposters? Or even just a Google search?

Some german advertisements [you have to search throughout the site]:

http://www.deutsche-schutzgebiete.de/default.htm

some advertisements for Mercedes [I think they are later than the ones you are looking for]:
http://www.mbzponton.org/ponton3/ads/ads.htm

Some others here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/qcassetti/1159455605/
there is also some ranges of political posters but I cannot [according to the rules] to post the link.

hope to find something

I found the following page with pics of old tin cans including German ones:

http://www.alte-dosen.de/gallery.htm

As written anywhere else on this forum you may try a Google search with the two words

Schokolade Reklame (or instead of "Reklame" you could search for "Werbung")

Searching for "schokolade reklameposter" gave this link.

Hope that helps,
Zephalo

Dear area23

Finally I found something:

http://www.ak-ansichtskarten.de/ak/index.php?menu=92&shop=22247

if the link doaes not work and opens the starting page: go to ephemera, then advertising stamps, then food/drink and then chocolate!

Hope you find something of interest!

Hey, those look very nifty. Note the old fashioned German spelling of Cacao which nowadays would be spelled Kakao. Interesting where you find good ideas these days. Great find.
