I'd be interested in either plastic or metal beastmen actually. Are those cat or rat men in that cover? Having searched through Reaper's catalog I was surprised at how few human like beastmen they had (specifically I'm meaning ones which look like say the Argonians from the Elder Scrolls series rather than crocodiles with swords...), so even a blister or two from Northstar would be good.

Is this expansion currently still being written and tested or is it already signed off on? Just wondering as it was said that the base game needed to be sent off something like eight months before it was actually printed.

Anyhow, I'm all for this (I don't know about you, but I love expansions), and it'll be great to see what else comes out for Frostgrave in the meantime before Summer 2016. :)

@ Fencing Frog

Heh, OK, I perhaps should have included a "semi-realistic looking, not cute as hell" clause.  lol

Hi Joe,
Sounds fantastic - and time for a shameless plug. If you are looking for playtesters please contact us, devoted gamers and FG fans in Western Canada. We have experience in this kind of thing and it would be a privilege to get involved with this project.

Having "defected" from Warhammer Fantasy, it's nice to be excited about new releases rather than dreading them.

With a dungeon theme, what I think would be great would be to have a HeroQuest style dungeon-crawler set in Frostgrave.  I miss HeroQuest so much; the game that started it all for me.  With the crack-laced design choices that Games Workshop made, the old school fantasy feel of Frostgrave has been a breath of fresh air.

I know it's still a long time until the new supplement will appear. But thinking about the terrain: would finished Dwarfen Forge game tiles be better or should I buy some further molds from Hirst Arts? What is recommended? Has anyone experience with both variants?

I've owned both Hirstarts and Dwarven Forge, and frankly they are both great. For me, Hirst arts eventually won out because it is much cheaper in the long run and allows for pretty much infinite variety and creativity. Probably just comes down to time though - if you've got the time and desire to make your own stuff, go with Hirst arts.

I opted for the Itar's Workshop dungeon. Cast in lightweight resin in complete sections but made from Hirst Arts block masters, so best of both worlds. Adding specialist rooms or particular passage designs is simply a case of buying a bunch of blocks pre-cast from one of the licensed resellers and gluing them up.
The Itar's pieces are totally compatible with any Hirst based pieces.

I've already used Frostgrave for a dungeon crawl and it worked well, so looking forward to this. Hopefully it will include a dragon!

I have tons of the DF "Dwarvenite" game tiles- for both Dungeon and Cavern schemes. Very easy to paint, almost indestructible (you can hit them with a hammer, drop them on the floor, etc., with no visible effect.)

Any more teasers you can give us about this release, or even the upcoming one with the cultists?

Wow, this announcement has me giddy with anticipation!  :-*

Dungeon crawling Frostgrave style would just be the icing on an already very tasty cake.

And those bestial guys on the cover (what a teaser that is, btw) look a lot like Gnolls to me as well.

Luckily, the release date is some time off yet, as that still gives me a sporting chance to get my other Frostgrave stuffs in order first (yeah, right... ::) ).
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...
