Scarab Miniatures - almost Pulpy officers
« on: November 06, 2008, 09:51:58 AM »
I really like these, they have a certain something that makes me think of pulpy conetations. A little cartoony but doesnt it add to the character of them.

very lovely figures! nice additions.

They fil a big gap , producing Austro Hungarians.

And yes, these officers are a must for pulp (and not only) games. Hope to get more figures like them, in their kepis and softcaps.

these officers have also a lot of potentials to be painted to depict minor interwar armies semihistorical and fictional!

I don't know what makes them Austro-Hungarian rather than German (that's a gap in my knowledge rather than the figure makers), but the first thing that popped into my head when I saw them was, "ooooh, lovely Freikorps minis".

Very nice. Officers especially.  :)

I don’t know how to say it but they seem "thick"…  :?

That’s a good thing, even if it make them a little cartoony, like it was said. I bet they will paint up really easily because of that. I like them too!  :)
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

Good call Heldrak. They look like the WWI officers they are meant to be but I can see them interrogating Tintin, turning up at some event where the Heiress is in distress and on and on. And now in some eastern European castle full of loonies.

I think they look great, theres some more detail on them and the other figures in the range on the WAB forum.  Scarab miniatures website will go 'live' shortly it says so far just some previews to wet our appetite  ;)  range looks very promising.

Visited their website earlier today and it is now live for ordering etc.

In the gallery there is a painted pilot figure that looks very nice but I think it may be from another manufacturer???????

I see that Rob Baker hasn't sorted out the big hand problems that are quite noticable on some of the AHs. Nevertheless, they are fine figures and will fill a neat niche in the market place. The greens on the Italians and Russians look interesting.

If they are viewing this message perhaps guys a 75 mm mountain gun with crew not only in traditional uniform, but also for Palestine. That's a big hint, hint!

It's a very good year for WW1 fans.
