Haggis Rampant Campaign; First Steps (larger pics!)
« on: October 24, 2015, 10:40:25 PM »
The start of my Lion Rampant project set for a start in December with the beginning of the club campaign set on the border region of England and Scotland. Perfect for the Lion Rampant rules.

I've started with the list below in mind (plenty of Fierce Foot for some fireworks on the tabletop!):

Dismounted Men at Arms: (6 including Leader), Ferocious            6pts

Wild Scots: (12) Ferocious/Wild Charge/Counter Charge Foot/Fleet Footed      4pts

Wild Scots: (12) Ferocious/Wild Charge/Counter Charge Foot/Fleet Footed      4pts

Wild Scots: (12) Ferocious/Wild Charge/Counter Charge Foot/Fleet Footed      4pts

Highland Archers: (12)                           4pts

Lowland Archers (Bidowers) (6) Hard to Hit/Skirmish/Evade/Fleet Footed      2pts

I've added some straps to the shields and around the torsos of these mini's including buckles as I want them to appear to be supporting their shields whilst wielding their might choppers! Pro Create was my putty of choice. The mail has been painted in as has the fur trim around the Lord's cloak.

More pics (and erm... larger ones!  :-[ ) can be seen with a bit of discussion on my La Journee Blog here:

Straps and Buckles Added:

And the unaltered mini's just for the sake of completion:

Cheers,
Darrell.

Nice start Darrell, look forward to seeing them with some slap on.  ;)  :D

I think you'll suffer with all those angry blokes running around when you don't want them to. Fairly historically accurate though..  ;)

Looking forward to seeing the results!

Islesmen are one of my favourite Retinues to play, purely from an enjoyment point of view, never to win a game …  :D

Me too. Unfortunately, after finishing the straps for the shields, priming and undercoating then doing the dry brushing of the mail and fur I had to pack my bags and head down to London just as I was foaming at the mouth to give them a splash of paint..... come Friday though :)

Yeah, they should be a barrel of laughs as they either stand still or shoot across the table top  lol

i'm not the only guy who will be using Islemen either so if we survive the volleys from the Expert Archers we should be in for a bloody treat  :D

I reckon carnage will be the order of the day :)

I look forward to seeing your progress.

Lots of neat figures.

Thanks for the kind words re: my blog :)

As lovely as it is at my Sister's I'm sort of gagging to get back to the painting table!

Darrell.
