Pulp Alley Perilous island scenery
« on: September 30, 2016, 01:22:07 AM »
So Halloween time, and the stores are simply full of interesting stuff.
In this case I found this package.
Through the magic of opening the package and turning it back to front I was able to create LAVA  :o

Some better pics on my blog

Very clever re-purposing of found materials!  And it looks a lot better than the red felt I wound up using:

Brings back a painful memory...literally one lousy die-spot from victory, and it slipped away.

Your 'red felt' is a 100 times better then my horrid attempt to paint up some plastic overhead projector sheet. I tried a mixture of red orange and yellow paint and, well, the result was horrendous. Thankfully there is no photographic evidence.

Also, thankfully (and a little sadly), the lava was not required. In the scenario the lava shows up in turn 4, and our game did not make it past turn 3 before a victor was crowned!

Really cool idea for lava. I'll have to look for some of that stuff.  :D

Indeed! We've been looking for something like this for awhile. THANKS for the idea.  :D

One word of warning, it will stain if you leave it too long. In my case I left it on the temple complex for a few weeks, so really not a surprise that it might do this. :`

If you are worried just leave the plastic or some other protective barrier attached to the 'lava'.

However in the case of the temple it now looks blood stained to me, and that is a good thing :D
