All Things Kryomek
« on: October 02, 2015, 12:07:48 PM »
Howdy

A few years ago I went on a massive Kryomek binge. Painted loads, bought even more. Then, because of one thing or another, I just lost enthusiasm. Packed everything up and relegated it to the back of the garage.

But do you know what? I think I might be feeling the need again. So today I dug out all the bits and pieces I could find, and this is what I have to work through:

The stuff in blue is from a second hand haul I grabbed when I picked up my Swarm-Master, and will need to be stripped before painting.

To save your eyes, included are:

10 Colonial Marines
14 Marines
3 Marine Casualties
21 SWAT
10 EBS Cyclos
14 Cyclos
6 Predator Marines
8 Talos
1 Helcat
1 Storm Strider
1 Tiger APC

4 War-Masters
31 Warriors
14 Hybrids
27 Helions
2 Heavy Spore Launchers

Think I'll start with the cyclos as they're already based and primed. Then, who knows. Hopefully the mojo will last.

And to give you something shiny to look at, some pics of when I was painting.

I know I've a few of the tanks that a friend did up as stunties.

I was surprised to see the Tiger, though. Never knew it started as a part of Kryomek.

And, nice job on the not-not-Aliens...  ;)

Damn, that's nice. Reminds me that I have a lot of Penal Troopers in dire need of assembly and painting.

Thanks for the comments.

The Penal troops (Cyclos) are probably the best sculpts in the range - I love 'em!

The_Beast - the Tiger was never part of the Kryomek range, but it was part of Void, which Kryomek kind of morphed into. There's a listing in the Hivestone supplement for a four-legged troop carrier called a Colossus, which this is going to see service as.

Thence to Urban War, thence to...?

One can REALLY get lost in the thences.   ;D

Thanks! The Cyclos used to just weird me out; starting to grow, a bit. I suppose there's a salve for that.  lol

"explosive tipped poking stick"

There's a missed opportunity. They could have opaquely referred to them as ETPS weapons all the way through the books. "By 3494 ETPS technology advanced to the point where conscripted penal troops could be given weapons with which they could fight the Kryomek while being unable to deploy them against their gauss-rifle armed guards.."

They do mix well. Look like they could be a good source for Nexus Marines. Thanks!

AND, 'Farnsworth' is SUCH a happy fellow! Don't recall him at all.

Thanks!
