A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

A man after my own heart, recycle what you can buy what you haven't time to build.
A tip would to go thinner with the internal walls, you can add strength by using strips of card with rivets it's also a great way to hide strengthing strips.(if you place a strip back to back, one inside and one outside you get strength with out the risk of having to build thicker walls especially when representing metal walls.)
It's not easy to get the proportion's right when building to a model you want to game with both inside and out.(a lower and longer hull would work better and be stronger )
It stands out because you've got your sub in the picture(which is nice in its own right) which is a surface to game on rather than in.Which is long and low,and only makes the steamer look taller and shorter.
That said you've projected the feel of a sea going Tramp Steamer very well.(I'd be more than happy to game with on my table.)
Job well done ,
Looking forward to seeing the finished article,it's going to be a great model to own.
Mark.

Your right there's some great advice ,and ideas on this forum, and as a rule some great like minded people.
Now stop procrastinating and get if finished.as I'm waiting on an update.(also I'm not beyond borrowing ideas :D)

Just a little TEASER of what I am up to with the tramp.....
engine room and cabin furnitures...

They are small...but the triple expansion steam engine has twin fuel oil fed boilers...the supplemental draw fuel and water tanks are in the stern.
There will also be a small generator hooked up to the steam engine crank shaft.
