Wizards and Ring of Will
« on: September 30, 2015, 09:39:10 AM »
I don't want to put this in the FAQ, as I'm sure I already know the answer, it's just me being blind to the why of the answer.

My wizard has a Ring of Will, so goes from +4 to +5.  I'm assuming the Apprentice doesn't go from +2 to +3, but I'm can't find the "why". I thought there was a rule about magic items giving a second stat line, but I can't find it, but I'm assuming I've just missed it.

Help?

Magic items cause a figure to have a Split Stat.  So your wizard with a will boosting ring has a Will State of +4/+5.  The apprentice's stat is always based on the wizards actual stat (the first number) never on the stat as modified by an item.

p19 (split stat) and last paragraph on p20 if you want to find where you've encountered it at some point.

Thanks Coenus, I knew I'd seen it, and it was bugging me I couldn't find it.

Thanks for the explanation Joe, but it was the "where" that I needed.
