Hastings Demo Casualty Markers
« on: October 02, 2015, 11:57:32 AM »
Hi,

Completed these the other day. A couple were painted a few years ago and simply re-based. The others painted recently.

I think they've turned out quite well. I need two per unit (one for the ranks of  Ceorls and one for for the ranks of Thegns/Huscarls). I've now got four complete for the two units that I have completed! Oops!  ;D

As usual. you can read about the processes behind the ideas and see many more pics on my Just Add Water Blog here:

Cheers,
Darrell.

"Incidentally, I know there were no Beserkers at Hastings; some the models were just too nice and aggressive not to include as vignettes. please forgive me :>)"

I do!

Very lovely as always.
Now what is this whole life of mortals but a sort of comedy, in which the various actors, disguised by various costumes and masks, walk on and play each one his part, until the manager waves them off the stage?

Ooooo, aren't you the bloodthirsty one. 'No quarter here!'  lol

They really ARE too handsome. Wait, by your oops, you have too many? Cast offs?  :D

Anyway, YOU may know there were no berserkers...

Nice smooth painting Darrell.
Not taken by one or two of the sculpts though. The miniature with two axes is a right little munchkin.
Weird, because the dynamism in the stabbing-in-the-back pairings is very good.

That fella reminds me of someone we know.
The munchkin reference helps identify him.

They look great. They add some extra character, and make a change from sprawled out on the ground casualty markers. Thanks for sharing
