The guns are exact replicas at 1:49 scale (to allow for casting), which is one of the beauties of CAD. It allows detail and accuracy that would be impossible by hand.
It's probably the camo pattern that's putting you off - but the colours are taken from those used by Spetsnaz.

I've got extensive photos of Spetsnaz using these kind of 74's. Many of the figures also have US made optics, Stocks and rails too. As you say they are quite keen on US made, or replica US kit (including Opscore helmets and Crye kit). I even have photos of them using HK416s and Accuracy International sniper rifles, but that's a different story!
The AKSU is also taken directly from photographs.

But, this range will be added to extensively so your comments will be taken on board :)

I need to pick up the civilian clothed pack. Just need to wait tell next month to do it though
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Cool, I'd definitely like to see some close-ups of the unpainted ones.  As you said, their weapons are all over the place.  I'd like to see some with GP-25/GP-30 grenade launchers at some point.  Maybe even that funky three-round, pump grenade launcher to back them up.  The Russians are the most fascinating units when it comes to weapon diversity.
