pack/mountain artillery carried by porters
« on: October 12, 2015, 12:02:25 AM »
Hello
for my next wargame that is a recostruction of the battle of Beden..Belgian Congolese troops Vs Dervishes..i'm trying to find infos...above all images..of African porters carrying, over their heads,a dismantled small mountain piece...in the case of Belgian Force Publique they actually employed a 75mm Krup Mountain Gun carried by African porters but..any image and ideas on similar way of trasporting artillery would be appreciated..for my project i've begun to select some old Minifigs and some new Riveresco, WF, Northstar African carriers from which i plan to cut away the crates and other goods and glue some dismantled artillery pieces..probably some plastic 1:72 pieces of guns..i'm not an absolute purist..but i would be happy to have a general pictorial idea of how a gun could be carried ..how many pieces..ecc...the barrel probably attached to a pole carried by two guys...any idea , pict, plates and picts of Toys soldiers (which are for me a great ispiration)..will be welcome
thanks in advance
