Bolt Action 1919
« on: 14 October 2015, 06:26:35 PM »
Hey all,
I made some cards for our Bolt Action 1919 german revolutionary wars campaign, and I thought I might post them up here for inspiration, if anyone else might be interested. They can be printet out and used as is, or glued unto normal-sized playingcards.
The way they work is pretty simple. We put an extra dice in the bag (the bright red story dice) and each time it's drawn, the person who drew it get to draw a card and put it into effect. I suppose a few in here already use the system to put a bit more randomness into their games, and the Cards here are meant to also add a bit of period flavour.

The Cards either target 'Red' units, 'Nationalists' or random units. Red units are the Communist militia and sailors, known as Spartakists. The Nationalists are the conservative militias, known as Freikorps.

So far it's been working well, creating a few funny situations. They are all hopelessly unbalanced, so if you're into competitive gaming, these are not for you. If you're into storytelling and random acts of miniature violence and generic sillyness, these will probably be to your taste.
English is not my first language, so excuse any mistakes.

I've attached both documents below.

Thank you for posting. This is exactly what I'm doing with my late war Germans and interwar bits and pieces.

Many thanks - I've got plans to do a Very German Civil War and these cards are exactly the way we like to play.

Glad to hear they can be of use! May I recommend Tsuba miniatures interwar german marines and freikorps, if you're looking to add a bit of favour to your collection. I ordered a load of marines from them, and the figures are very nice!

@dice shaker are you on a Mac? It's a docx file, which can be problematic with Apple products.
