Last weekend we played another game of Black Powder in our Russia 1812 campaign at my club. This time the Battle of Loubino pitting a Russian rearguard protecting a vital crossroads through which the retreating Russian army must travel through after their defeat at Smolensk.
Quite a historical result with Ney making quick progress initially until encountering Russian reinforcements. Meanwhile Junot refused to act and would mostly sit out the battle even though being situated in a perfect flanking position. The battle would end with the Russians succeeding in slowing down the French long enough for their army to pass the crossroads and continue towards Moscow and eventually Borodino. Next up the biggest battle of the campaign will be played in December to allow time for more units to be painted.
