Fireforge figures advice neded
« on: October 19, 2015, 07:44:00 PM »
I have taken the plunge and downloaded Lion Rampant on my Kindle.
I am thinking of raising my Retinue from Fireforge and would like to know the most suitable box sets to use for generic Western European forces for mid 13th game settings.

In addition, I may get some armed peasants as well, what figures are a good match for Fireforge?

Any advice on this period of gaming is welcome as I normally do 20th Century plus!

Oldgamer,
Really, any of the sets would work for 13th century, particularly the mounted and foot Sergeants.

The Templar infantry is a good mixed box with both knights and infantrymen, and a good selection of shields, weapons and helmeted heads.

Here's an article on the subject from the game's author:

He doesn't mention Templar Infantry to build foot men-at-arms, but unless you're on a budget, I'd be inclined to get a box of those, too.

Monkeylite, thanks for that, I am nipping to my local shop in Rochester tomorrow to pick up a couple of boxes!

Old Glory does a very comprehensive medieval 'Revoltiing Peasants' range with lots of variants, men throwing rocks, looters, women and children etc. For added variety there is the Jacquerie pack in the HYW range, and depending on the character of your proposed mob you might also like to include the Pilgrims pack from the Crusades range.
