All looking good Steve! 8) Are the whites drybrushed or stippled?

Good question Andy!

It's actually a quite dilute Vallejo Sky Gray and it is squiggled.

Using a 3/0 (I block coat with a 2 and midlayer and highlight with a 3/0) it's mostly very short cursive and jagged strokes on the flat surfaces with fine lines on the prominent creases with larger splotches at points of wear such as knees and elbows and other high points I wanted to emphasise (such as boobs and bums for the ladies to suggest a bit more, er, volume).

I think we need to add that to the painting dictionary! Henceforth, along with drybrush, wash and glaze, we now add squiggled! ;)  lol

Thanks for the quick response Steve!

 :D

Have painted 15 Bolton sigils...

... somewhat frustrating as I'd carved damage into the placcy shields which meant that the brush jiggled all over the place. Anyways, now they're done I'll add some wood colour into the slashes so they won't look quite so pristine.

Edit: minis are glossy because I do the detail stuff (eg sigils and faces) after the first coat of varnish

Nearly there with both the Boltons and the Wildlings, just 40 faces to tart up, final varnishing and then static grass (I don't think I'll be adding tufts to the bases as there are plenty on the board and I also plan to add one of my castles to the project, and I want to avoid flowery bases inside buildings).

Most excellent, sir.
 :-*

Not being a GOT aficionado I am guessing that the shields are the 'flayed man' emblem that I have heard of before...?
If so, bloody clever.

Thanks Paul and yes, the flayed man.  :)

This is close to the one from the TV series though Captain Blood did his differently, based on his interpretation of the books, which is much more elaborate.

The Boltons can be a somewhat unsavoury bunch. ;)

Great stuff but don't get too attached as they'll be going down in the first turn  >:D

Just counting what I've got and I can field about 70 figures all told (including a mercenary company from Bravos).

cheers

Pah! We shall see.....  :D

70! Blimey! I didn't realise you had so many..... Unfortunately I don't have time to make 70 flayed corpses  ;)

Now I'm really looking forward to the AAR of your clash :D
Especially as you both have brilliantly painted figures...
