Playing Star Wars using Frostgrave
« on: October 21, 2015, 09:28:55 AM »
Just thought I'd share the couple of Star Wars games we've had using the Frostgrave ruleset.

The first part is here - http://www.freewebs.com/norrins/risingsalvation.htm

The second part is here - http://www.freewebs.com/norrins/forafewcreditsmore.htm

The rule changes we've made are documented here - http://www.freewebs.com/norrins/apps/blog/show/43530052-using-frostgrave-for-star-wars-gaming-

Enjoy.

No, these are old Star Wars Miniatures Game figures. You can still get them on ebay or at shows.

I enjoyed the reports! Frostgrave seems to fit Star Wars surprisingly well.

I wonder if the imperial side would do better if the storm troopers represented a cheaper soldier type (crossbowmen, perhaps). It's a big disadvantage to have so few models.

It has been quite noticeable in the first two games that the Imperial player (ie me) has been at a disadvantage. We went with Marksmen for Stormtroopers as they had the highest armour rating (I think) of the various shooting roles. If we had more Death Star Troopers then they would have bulked out the Imperial side.

However, I have been saving my credits (gold) to recruit for the next game, so my numbers will increase  :)

Awesome idea, thanks for posting. I like your home rules for Jedi & Sith.  I'll take a look on Ebay for those minis. Thanks again!

What a great idea!

Gives me inspiration to finish my Deadgrave (Deadzone/Frostgrave) mash-up.

That is great. I have hundreds of those Star Wars miniatures if not over 1,000. I'll have to try out the games like you have.

Nice twist to the changing the background. A very versatile set of rules for sure.
I should be painting right now.
