Thx a lot! This Toy is a deadly nice found!

You're very welcome!
Except for my Dust tactics buildings, most of my terrain comes from toys, models, etc that I find at resale shops.  Usually missing parts, sometimes broken, but always cheap.  As long as you have the eye to combine in interesting ways and can cut away distracting details (I recommend the Dremel 543 cutter), toys provide ready-made starting points for terrain and almost always are already covered in great detail and texture.

You can see alot more at the terrain thread I posted above, but in first picture in this topic you can find terrain made from...
-Matchbox/HotWheels style parking garage
-Creeply Crawlers molding machine
-Rokenbok hopper/lift and elevated storage tank
-Refrigerator egg box
-ERTL farm buildings.
-Hot Wheels car Launcher
-Pokemon high rise building
-Walther HO scale engine shed
-etc, etc...

Thanks folks.
The Rifleman is one of my favorites too. I just wish I knew what happened to the radar prop...

As for the mix, I pretty much just grabbed whatever I could find that was cheap had a somewhat battletech'ish look to it.  Not that we're playing in the BT universe but it's kind of my benchmark for what big stompy robots should look like, especially the macross designs.

We were in the hallway on the second floor.  We were very out in the open, but since our game was from around 8:30 -11:30 on Saturday morning I imagine there were alot of other folks who missed us too.

I'll probably be back next year as well.  I was also musing about the idea that that since it was so much terrain to bring and -if I may toot my own horn- a rather impressive display, maybe there would be someone else who wanted to run a game on our city scape after we finish.

If anyone is interested in the bullet train in the first post or other similar trains toys I did a bit of sourcing and put the results here:

It's kind of awesome what you can get in near-28mm scale for less than $20!

thanks for the ideas, I was also looking for an urban train for shadowrun !

These trains reminds me the old arcade game "final fight", where the hero was fighting in a rolling train ! It opens a lot of interesting gameplay, on the tabletop.

You're welcome!
I think there's scarcely a genre of wargaming that wouldn't be improved with a train, even if it is just as stationary scenery.  At the very least it's a way to get some good blocking terrain that doesn't take up a wide footprint.
