Very nice! But still disappointed they didn't do Union Command in Frock Coats Advancing to go with the lone frock coat advancing pack... There is still a LOT to like about these new releases though! :)

The sharpshooters are a must!

(Even though I'm not very fond of prone and laying poses...)

What a wonderful start to 2016!  Beautiful stuff.
Now what is this whole life of mortals but a sort of comedy, in which the various actors, disguised by various costumes and masks, walk on and play each one his part, until the manager waves them off the stage?

By the way, anyone heard of any more additions to the British Intervention Force range?

Nice figures, always good to have more variety but didn't the Confederates have any iconic units? Is there any ACW range that doesn't already do the Iron Brigade and Sharpshooters etc.

The problem with iconic Confederate units is the uniforms didn't last that long so they pretty much dissipated by the end of 61'. Wheat's Tigers or Coppen's Bttn. in 62'would be GREAT, but very unlikely. Also CS sharpshooters, or sharpshooters other than Berdan's - Brady's MI Sharpshooters, Andrews' MA, 1st MN Sharpshooters, etc. Regular uniforms and scoped or later Sharps rifles. Packs of just Officers, Flag Bearers, etc would be nice especially since they are a little short on Union Officers.

Now if they would take the new Union releases and do some head swaps, giving them slouch hats, we would have some nice Western Theater Federals (drool).

Saw an ACW game not too long ago.  Iron Brigade, two regiments of zouaves, a regiment of marines, Irish Brigade in greatcoats, and Berdan's Sharpshooters.  Not a single "ordinary" Union regiment on the board.

That sounds like my first ACW game except they also had a regiment of US regulars, heavy artillery also Custer's Wolverines! My army seemed to be composed of mainly militia.

Have you tried cutting off the caps and gluing on a slouch hat from the plastics range? I have and it worked pretty well. You just have to be careful not to snip off too much of the hat/head, and some slouches don't fit as well as others, but you can get some nice results! It would be a real pain to do more than a few though I'll admit. BUT the metal heads in slouches and the plastic figures from the 1st plastic box work very well together.

Actually some new packs of metal heads for converting plastics would be great! Especially Texas (star) slouch hats, Mississippi Tricorns (like the old Perry sculpted Foundry range had). and bare or bandaged heads. :)
