Knight Models just continues to impress.  I absolutely love their next offerings.

Cat woman looks good, the Batman just looks awful. Also, their prices are so out of touch with reality that GW looks cheap. It's too bad, really.

I think the Batman looks spot on...

Yeah, I didn't think you could get any more spot on to the Batman Animated Series.... ???

I agree, the prices are absurd, but I still somehow justify them...

Spot on, and awful. Sculpting an awful animated character doesn't make it a better model. Still looks like a well sculpted turd.

I like the models, but I can't afford to spend that much. Most of my gaming is using either Heroclix, D&D mini's or old Star Wars minis.

Kruthik makes for a nice alien scout

The Iron Defender makes for a nice Sci-Fi robot dog companion

Cutting out swords on monsters and replacing them with guns or light sabres makes for some nice aliens

Cat woman looks good, the Batman just looks awful. Also, their prices are so out of touch with reality that GW looks cheap. It's too bad, really.

Really? Most of the new GW characters are £19/£20 for a single model, most standard size single character figures have an RRP of £12.99 for batman. Also you need like 10 models to play a big game of batman, most of those being in double packs so maybe £60-£70 start up cost. To play an equivalent large game of GW games you are looking at £350-£500.

I get they aren't the cheapest models in the world but you are well off on your price comparison.

In addition the animated series sculpt is an awesome rendition of the source material regardless of if you like the source material or not. I think it will make a lot of fans happy.

Pretty much. A basic plastic Space Marine captain these days is £18 GBP. Resin/Finecast whatever is more like £15. Both of these are more expensive than the Arkham Knight Batman, for example, which is a pretty huge chunk of metal, scaled at 35mm and with his big gargoyle base.

And yeah, the sweet spot for a workable 'crew' is 7-8 models. If you have basic thugs and cops in that mix, they're slightly cheaper still as they're discounted in multi-part blisters.#

(I'm just trying to justify it to myself, as I already spent way too much on this game ;-)

Oh I know where you are coming from psyberwyche, I switched from mainly playing GW to now mainly playing Batman and i have all the crews bar a couple my mate has. I was surprisedjust how much less money I spend on hobby now though even with terrain and all the fancy bits than when I was an avid GW collector. I love the rules and the models and I am a big fan of how KM has brought it all to life.

I don't mind the prices (too much) on the Batman stuff. The licence must add a pound or two to each mini and in comparison with GW it's a lot less ridiculous. What does pee me off are the weird choices on part divisions and the fact the joints between parts are often in the weakest and most vulnerable place possible. Annoying for gaming miniatures.

The rounded curves on Catwoman look quite good but the angular batman, while close to the animated look, doesn't look right on a 3D miniature.

The newer miniatures are improving in terms of ease of construction, but some of them are still awful. Carnevale and some Hell Dorado miniatures are guilty of it too, tiny joins at spots like wrists holding swords. Just cast the damn thin as a single piece.

I like the new models, particularly Katana, but she's got a rather boring studio paint job. Price-wise they are expensive. I get told that every time I show or demo the game. The best response I can give is that you can play a lot of games with a crew starter and a booster or two. It's cheaper overall than a lot of games, but the individual price-per-model still makes a lot of people balk.
