majorsmith, I made them and should have them for sale in a week or two.  They are so stylized that I don't expect them to be great sellers, but there must be others out there that want the same bit of nostalgia  8)

Hi Corporal, they are the UFO Squad rules, based on the Song of.. system of rules.  Just ran the con game yesterday and had two people say that it was the most fun game they played all weekend.  I'll post some pics of it up soon.

I must admit that that was one of the most fun games I ever played. To be able to play on the table would just be the bees knees. I'll definetly check out the Song of rules sets. If looked at SoBH AARs and like what I've seen. Thanks and great job with the set up and minis.  8)

Did you run this table at Crisis then?  :o

If you did, I missed it completely and I will be kicking myself for a month!  :'(

UFO (the original) is up there as one of my favourite games of all time (together with Diablo and TIE-Fighter ;) ), and I've been toying with the idea of porting the game to the tabletop for the longest time. But here you are with a perfect rendition of the classic game.

It looks marvelous and everyone who ever played the game will be instantly taken back to their time sitting behind their 486, all tensed up when hearing those pesky Sectoids move, somewhere behind the farm house (and of course, in the corn field)!  8)

Awesome work; I think I might just try out your system as well...
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

No, I wish.  My local con here in Vermont, USA.

But here you are with a perfect rendition of the classic game.

Some may say different :)  I wanted to take the aspects I loved, alien fog of war, suspense, big aliens that kill you and reproduce, all the fun stuff and add that to a tabletop game.  I didn't try and copy or reproduce it, but take out the essence of what we all loved and strapped that on to the super-fun Song of... game engine.

The general feeling from the con was that it was took you back :)  Lot's of folks stopped by and recognized the board instantly!

Thanks for the comments!  I'll post some pics of the final game here in a few hours.

Here are the random pics from the con game.  We had two 6 man teams of UFO Squadies trying to get a piece of alien tech from the farmhouse to the Dropship.  Two identical teams of 5 greys, 1 Cryptozoid, and one Assault Disk tried to stop them.  It all came down to a shoot out in the middle of the board, but in the end, the UFO Squad managed to make a getaway.

Quite a bit of fun, the humans had a run of good luck in the end and one human remained locked in combat with a cryptozoid for 7 turn-overs!!  It was very close even though the humans had quite a few more able bodies on the board at the end.

I like the buildings.  Will be doing the room inserts and stairs as well?

You bet, it's all ready to go, I just need to make a few tweaks to my machine before I put them in the store.
