Olicana/James,

There are some really nice Saxon Miniatures Huscarls in a standing pose (see below) which will be gracing the back ranks of Godwinson's 'unit' anyway. The back rankers for the majority of the units will be Gripping Beast/Footsore Ceorls many of which will be in a looser pose.

I'm hoping that Bill at Footsore might produce something of that nature too but only time will tell. As it's an Anglo Danish army I not averse to using 'Viking' miniatures as rankers too.

BTW, the basing isn't painted, highlighted nor had any tufts added as of yet, I just put up the pics for a comparison  ;) :)

Darrell.

You're project is coming along VERY nicely!  :-*  I thought that the Saxon Miniatures range would fit well with GB, just as Footsore does, but its nice to see that confirmed by you're picture.

With Christmas coming up and money being tighter than normal I had been trying to avoid the temptation of buying those Huscarls, but you had to go and post that picture up didn't you! It was the straw that broke the camels back, and I just had to go and order order them!  lol

I'm sure Bill must have Anglo Danish Huscarls in the pipeline, but whether or not we will see them this side of Christmas.....

My own biggest anticipation from Footsore is the release of their Welsh range, which I know is a work in progress.

Anyway keep posting you're progress, I very much look forward to it!

Cheers Marc.

Fantastic work Darrell!! :-*

Thanks Rafa :)

Here's some more comparison shots for Olican/James in more relaxed poses:

Gripping Beast, Footsore, Footsore:

Musketeer (Footsore), Gripping Beast Special, Gripping Beast:

Gripping Beast:

Footsore, Gripping Beast, Gripping Beast.

They will all be making their merry way into the Hastings Demo for Salute at some point soon. Talking of which watch out for an update as soon as I've managed to talk myself into completing the bases!

Darrell.
