Going French in the desert
« on: February 18, 2016, 08:02:25 AM »
I can't believe it, I'm starting a WW2 army! As a died-in-the-wool horse and musket gamer, this is quite a move for me.  You can read on my blog all about how this happened, my choice process for which WW2 army to collect, and my first order for  28mm miniatures for this period:

you have an army list published yesterday for the 1st Free French Brigade :

more lists to come, with more excentric vehicles  ;)
Dans les situations critiques, quand on parle avec un calibre bien en pogne, personne ne conteste plus. Y'a des statistiques là-dessus.

Rats! A couple of days too late! It was only two nights ago that I put in my order for forces that are mainly earlier (Berliet carriers, Laffly armoured car etc).  Also an R35 tank from Neucraft.

Though I couldn't resist one of those Tanakes, even though it was later. But, as I said in my blog, I'm not going to be constrianed by having to stick to exactly a particular campaign or theatre.

with what you have in stock, it will work for Vichy French in Syria Lebanon ... one of the lists to come ...  ;)
armour is R35, AC are Laffly and Tanake, the carrier can be used as a proxy ... guns are 75mm ( wooden wheel ) 105mm or 155mm ( pneumatic tyres ) and 47mm AT gun
and Perry minis have a nice range of suitable minis ...

Excellent! Sounds like only the Berliets will be incorrect if I did want to be exactly accurate?
