MK VI Siege Dreadnought.
« on: November 21, 2015, 03:45:45 PM »
Hi guys,

Here's a kitbashed wrecking machine I've been putting together. I wanted to build something like it was described in the "Siege" tome from way back when. It's almost finished.

For epic right, given the scale of that mech...nice conversion.

At second glance, yeah probably the 1/100.  I just glanced at it earlier thought it was an epic scale machine based on the new Robotech minis.

This is at least six kinds of awesome.

The sprayed out Ultra markings are probably my favourite bit.

Inspired.  8)

There are loads of older IMAI/Bandai kits for 1/72-1/100 Macross kits.

This looks straight out of Rogue Trader, make's me feel like it's 1987 all over again.
Inspirational dude, it's got serious flavour !

Hi guys,

It was fun reading the discussion about the scale :DD

It's actually based off of a 1/72 model kit from Bandai, correctly guessed by Elbows....ten browny points to you :DD mounted on a scratch built CD base that I've concocted for large scale models.

It's not finished yet, at least not in the "blog post sense". I've got one more write up to do (covering the weathering process) and it'll be finished. I've done four posts so far on my blog that cover it's build process....if your interested to see how it was made? ;D

IMHO RT is a veritable treasure trove of awesome, bursting with inspiration when it comes to kitbashing.

Glad you guys like it,
Cheers :)

 :o
Real 'old skool' vibe from that baby.

Love the imagination in the piece, like people have already noted, the RT feel of it is wonderful and the weathering and general paintwork is spot on.

That's properly awesome! And properly huge. Love the 'stand still' writing on the arm.
