HLBS VSF news
« on: November 26, 2008, 01:21:56 PM »
I recently emailed Richard at HBLS concerning their British Home Service VSF miniatures line availability and here is what I got in response:

Dear Ray,

I'm sorry to disappoint but the Victorian range was discontinued some years ago. The trouble is I don't do my own casting and because of the way the molds are configured if I was to cast them up again I'd end up with 20 sets of everything. So if they don't sell evenly across the board, they actually cost me to produce them. I'm afraid I can't have that much stuff lying about in the current climate.

All the best
Richard

Oh no, suprising as I bought my Household cavalry earlier this year, but given our economic situation not so suprising :'(

In defense of HLBS - they are a business and they are currently in the throws of producing a HUGE range of KKBB miniatures and equipment.  So some ranges will come in and out of production as trends change.

I know that Richards and Mark are true wargame fanatics and great figure sculptors, so they would not have discontinued a range without some real heart ache.

I guess we all need to petition the nice Mr Lowen at Ironclad to produce some Home Service cavalry....

Very good idea. I had a long chat with Mr Ironclad at Warfare about his forthcoming projects. Sadly I think Cavalry will be away off yet. He has some real treats in store for us in the meantime. ;)
