Painting Mujahideen (1979) in 6mm
« on: December 03, 2015, 05:00:18 AM »
https://cama4.wordpress.com/2015/12/03/painting-ghq-infantry/

I made a blog post today to explain how I paint, in this case, Mujahideen infantry.

Hope this is helpful to some!

Wonderfully clean painting, especially so given the scale.

At the risk of being a pain, the male version of the shalwar kameez almost invariably comes in a single colour so the trousers (shalwar) and kameez ( shirt) should match. Mix and match is pretty rare. Waistcoats can be whatever you want.

That is great information! I have many more to paint, so super handy. Thanks!

Did you shink yourself down to a 6mm scale so you could paint them?! You must have the hands of a surgeon!

Lol! No, but I do use a visor now. My eyes have grown old. :) I also am one of the catalogue painters for GHQ so I paint a lot of 6mm - it's always about practice and learning techniques that work with the scale you're in. How I paint 28mm is dramatically different (and much much worse!).

Thanks for the kind comments guys!

Went back and looked at all my pictures. You're 100% right. Man, do I feel dumb! Research, research, but the RIGHT research ...

Thanks!

(by the way, it's not as bad as this train wreck:

One of the first models I ever did for GHQ. I CRINGE every time I see it. Spot the horrific error? )

Fear not, I made the same mistake myself with my first batch of Afghans.
