Victorian hunting party
« on: November 26, 2008, 09:50:36 PM »
Could have put this in Colonial or Gothic I suppose but I chose here - hope thats ok

I was doing some mindless browsing and came across these on the 1st Corp site. They struck me as looking like a hunting party in smoking jackets??

You are right. A couple of them look like hunting party VSF.

TURKEY SHOOT

In the meantime I found this via the TMP
http://www.angelfire.com/az3/twohourwargames/files/TurkeyShoot.pdf

http://theminiaturespage.com/news/478316/

so a combination of the two might work nicely!

It's a very silly game, but a great deal of fun to ease Sunday afternoon boredom  :D

Yes, they are lovely figures. Thunderchicken is curently building a unit of them to act as Home guard to repel the dastardly prussians.

Sculpted by Rob Baker, He made a very popular ACW range as well a good few years ago.
The figures are going to be smaller than a lot of current ranges, but they are not true 25mm.

Thanks.

Any "similar to..." comparision for an inexpert like me?  I consider Hasslefree "small" 28mm, Foundry "Jack The Rippers" and this chappie from parroom was on the small side - but perfectly acceptable to me.

Besides, a lot of the Aristocracy were...short.

I haven't seen any comparison photos, if Thunderchicken can drag himself out of bed I am sure he will be able to oblige you with a picture of one. ;)
I would say from memory similar to Hasslefree in height and original Foundry Old West sculpted by Copplestone.

Good enough for me, sir.  I'll go and order.

(This place has cost me some money today.  What with these and the heads up on Northstar SCW...On the other hand, the Government wants me to spend my money.  So, yet again, it's all the Governments fault  :D)

Yaaaaaaaaaawn! That's me out of bed.

Anyway, I use these figs for VSF Brit militia, a sort of 19th century Dad's Army outfit. They are traditional 25mm but if you want a comparison pic I'm happy to oblige.
