They don't have to watch their backs for their fellow party members. Too bad it takes them until after they leave office to become human beings again.

Better games depend on more than just rules. But Warengine is trying to sell itself as a "universal miniatures game." Trying to cram every period of history, fantasy, and sci-fi into one game is my definition of silly. I just think that deliberately trying to be super generic isn't a good idea and makes the whole thing bland.

Rattrap uses their engine for every period, but at least makes concessions to the idea that different eras and genre's might need different rules...

But 40k isn't my style of game. I like too many figure ranges to make a company sized force of each one. (Oddly enough I think of Warhammer Fantasy style armies as more doable...maybe I'm crazy.) I do try to keep up with it though, I think the ways they try to change and evolve the game are interesting.

As it is now, I can walk into the GW Chicago Battle Bunker (big GW store in the states) and get a game almost anytime.  I don't know anyone that plays any other war/strategy games and, therefore, I am out of luck.  I would love to find a group that was willing to play Old West, Pirate, and modern army games.  After searching for a regular group for nearly a year I feel lucky that I have Games Workshop to fall back on.
