Does anyone know of a manufacturer of S.E. Asian style bamboo huts and or houses? Thank you in advance for your input!

Crouchie those are the very thing! I will have to put a crowbar to my wallet. If anyone knows a cheaper source? Again thanks Crouchie.

Bamboo barbeque skewers (Adding offcuts from an established outdoor bamboo plant), mounting card, leather darning cotton, those funny raffia type table mats from the 70's, and some old towel. Would be quite a challenge though. I purchased both Airfix Jungle Outpost kits once ina an attempt to make something like this(1/32 too big, 1/72 too small) The stilt legs and floor ended up chopped on some WW1 trench boards as dugouts. I think Frank from Mongrel/Minden made some once for someone to cast. I'll ask him tomorrow.

Miniature Building Authority made 28mm bamboo huts in the past, but I'm not sure if they still sell them.  I have pictures of them (pics 1, 2 and 4) in my African Adventure Gallery at www.warin15mm.com/28MM-African-Adventure-Gallery.html

Then there are these from Sarissa:

http://www.sarissa-precision.com/The_Far_East/cat1603369_2186585.aspx

Making them out of bamboo skewers and woven table mats isn't that hard and you can make whatever suits you. It's also thrifty. I knocked  up an open hut with skewers and teddy bear fur for the Confrontation and it must have cost me less than $5.00 and maybe an hour's work ( unpainted).

The Airfix 1/72 is only a little small if you want to pose figures on the deck, otherwise it's a pretty good and relatively cheap bit of scenery and although I haven't done so myself, it  can't be impossible to adjust door heights.

No worries mate, that's what we're here for.

On the DIY front it's well worth having a look at Matakishi's site, especially this page: http://www.matakishi.com/vietnambuildings.htm

If you've not tried making buildings, or have but not with cork, I can't recommend this technique highly enough. I was sceptical at first but I've since made about a dozen and it's a brilliant, cheap and easy to use material.
