Fantasy Ship Miniatures
« on: December 18, 2015, 02:48:51 PM »
Hi!

In anticipation of Nic Wright's fantasy supplement to his Galley & Galleons rules, I made a short overview of fantasy ship miniatures available:
https://wargamingraft.wordpress.com/2015/12/18/fantasy-ship-miniatures/

There is not too much out there it seems. If you know of any other manufacturers or sources, please tell me and I'll put it up on the blog.

Cheers
Shandy

Interesting post! I think that wet navy is a neglected part of the hobby in many genres, with the exception of a handful of historic lines.

Useful list. I didn't know Ral Partha did ships and they are very nice.

Don't forget Dreadfleet. I know it's widely disliked as a game, but it does include some nice models.

Ah yes, Dreadfleet, thanks for the reminder. I've looked at the models online - they seem to be very big and not really compatible with anything else...

They are rather big. But you can get away with using some of the more unusual ones alongside other ranges, because the scale isn't so obvious. The dwarf ship, for example, fits pretty well with the Man O War dwarfs.

That's good to know - I looked at some of them on ebay, but then wasn't sure about how they would fit in...
