Hi guys,

I have had this dying wish to paint some WW1 Italians and Austrians for a while now. I keep an eye on the WW1 miniatures and it seems the only option for Austrians and Italians would be Scarab miniatures and some other company, whose name I forgot (Brigade miniatures maybe?), but none of them would quite do for me.

In the end, I started thinking of using Great War Germans (stormtroopers to be precise) as Austrians and French (with adrian helmet) as Italians.

How well would they work as proxies and how much would have to be done? I have no problem converting miniatures as I find that part of the hobby very enjoyable, but only to a certain extent.

I am usually very picky when it comes to right webbing and gear, but I never really paid too much attention to WW1 uniforms, so as long as helmets fit things aren't too bad in my opinion. I know there are some differences in pockets as far as Germans/Austrians go, but that's about it.

Any opinions?

If you're looking for the company that makes the actual figures, it is Brigade Games:

Oh, thanks for the quick reply! I meant Renegade games it seems, never seen Brigade Games' ones. They are fantastic, is there an UK distributer, or are they only available from the USA?
