18th century fort models
« on: March 04, 2017, 02:43:58 AM »
I'm thinking of adding a small fort to my pirate project, but am having difficulty finding a suitable piece. I'm looking for a star fort look with sloping walls - such as you would find in the Caribbean or the East Indies in the 18th century. A whole fort is not needed, basically just something to fill an edge or corner of a game board. Are any out there, or is it time to break out the foam cutter?

Something like this?

I'm sure I've seen a resin one somewhere, experts will no doubt appear shortly :)

Em dezembro de '81
Botou os ingleses na roda
3 a 0 no Liverpool
Ficou marcado na história
E no Rio não tem outro igual
Só o Flamengo é campeão mundial
E agora seu povo
Pede o mundo de novo

Reiver Castings also produce a range of resin earthworm sections. Sorry no link. Doing this on my cheapo tablet and links are a pain to do!

This may be a long shot..
However the Mob called Stronghold Miniatures in the UK, did a very nice Spanish Colonial Fort in 25/28mm.
The bad news is that the guy who ran it , could not run a bath ..
They faded away.
However I believe that bloke still floats around the scene  ??
He may go by the moniker Tardis ...
Yes all very mysterious ...lol
It is a shame as they had lots of stuff.
May be a poke around may unearth him , or better still someone who knows where the moulds / stock is .
Like I said his fort was awesome , don't know if any one does anything like it ( they don't )
Failing that Speak To TM Terrain , they could make you one ...there stuff is superb...
Cheers

Somewhat unfair as the guy who ran SM was extremely unwell, perhaps even at death's door but is still lingering and does nor correspond. If someone in the UK could arrange a takeover of his products, that would be great but perhaps I am being overly optimistic. Many of his products would be superseded by now but some are unique (Dad's Army?).
