Der Krampus "Gift Set" I Put Together
« on: December 21, 2015, 04:52:01 PM »
Since it's the holiday season and this year my family decided to be significantly less commercial I decided to turn to my miniature talents for some gifts. My sister and I both Studied German while in College, and we have a repertoire of Germanic  in-jokes. So I put together a Krampus und Kinder "Gift Set." I think it is sort of a parallel to the Nativity sets (at least in my mind). I thought it came out pretty cool so I wanted to share it here.

The minis are all from Reaper. I noticed the Krampus one and got inspired to collect the set :)

Great idea.

Na, das ist doch mal eine lustige Idee. Find ich gut!  :D

Wobei Krampus nicht deutsch, sondern österreichisch ist, oder wie war das?!

You lot are so lucky over there. We desperately need a Krampus to make Christmas a bit more edgy here in Canada.

Cool project! You must feel a pang of worry every time you lock those children inside that box with the Krampus, though? ;D

Try a burning goat. The Timeline section of that Wikipedia article is kind of hilarious.

See? That's what I'm talking about! That's what Canada needs!

What's our Christmas tradition?

Make miniatures for that, eh.

Well, Europe has all kinds of weird traditions around Christmas, but most of them have nothing to do with Christmas.
They just became Christmas traditions because their date is set so closely to Christmas and at some point people just forgot the stuff never had anything to do with Christmas.

Its all really old pagan stuff that has to do with darkness on some level. After all, the night before Christmas is the longest night of the year, right?
Or was it the night of the 25th? Well, whatever, its somewhere around Christmas.

Sooo, yeah....I wouldnt exactly call them "Christmas traditions"... most of them are older than Christmas. lol

@Fiftyvolts

Könnte sein. Aber dann nur im Süden von Deutschland. In Bayern vielleicht...
Hier im nördlichen Teil gibt es jedenfalls keinen Krampus :D
