Well, part from the obvious, ie using them for their intended purpose, the British Legion and associated troops in Colombia and Venezuela, they would do service for British troops in the First Burma War and indeed some of the early Indian conflicts, post 1815. The British Army used a plain wicker framed shako, covered in oilskin during the First Burma War. You could also probably get away with using them as marines for anti-slavery operations in Africa.
If you haven't read much on Bolivar, his campaigns of Liberation in South America and the British contribution the get yourself a copy of Ben Hughes' Conquer or Die, it's a good read and might just inspire to fight some very gameable and interesting battles.
