Hello and solo game advice
« on: January 06, 2016, 01:05:20 AM »
A quick hello by way of introduction.
I have lurked on this site for a number of years and have enjoyed looking at the amazing talent there is here.
I decided to join as I am making a break from historical gaming and see that there is a lot of activity on the fantasy board (and , of course, you all seem a friendly and enlightened bunch ;)).
I suspect my fantasy gaming will be a solo affair as my usual gaming group have little interest in fantasy or skirmish games.
I have tried Dragon Rampant with some random events bolted on to make it more interesting for solo play.  So far this has gone well (I will write a report soon of my trial game).
But reading reports here of Frostgrave and Otherworld I am tempted to try these as well.
So, the question is, how suitable are these games for solo play?

You might want to take a look at this thread -

It's a suggestion for a Dungeon that randomly generates as you move through it complete with random encounters and aimed at using Otherworld Fantasy Skirmish. I haven't tried it, but it looks like it could be a good starting ponit.
