Fallout - gas station
« on: December 29, 2015, 10:13:45 AM »
I've been playing Fallout 4 for some time now. There are some abandoned gas stations in the game.

I love the look of them, so I've tried to build something similar.

It is not an exact replica, but I hope you like it.

I started with a small piece of plastic building from my favourite 1 € shop. It came with some ugly green plastic soldiers which I had to dispose off immediateley because of the risk of eye cancer. The scale is somewhat small for 28mm, but anyway.

First thing to do was to give the surface a rough treatment and to add some parts.

The old space marine will be a power armour suit.  I made a power armour repair station from several plastic parts found in my small parts storage.

Giving it a all a gray spraying  makes the whole thing look more complete.

The next photo is an intermediate stage with some painting applied.

At last, this is the whole thing. And of cause there is a NUKA COLA vending machine.

I took some pictures out in the badlands to give you the right impressions :)

Very nice Ideas in here! Well Done. For my personal favor I had made the Roof lower to the ground. It looks a bit strange that way fixed to the second floor instead to the first one.

This is excellent. There is so much to see. The posters are great. It is a miniature diorama but functional for gaming. Looking forwards to what is next,

Well done.
Love all the little extras you have done.
Please share more when you build them.

Hugely effective!  I think that by having the canopy on the second floor you do make the forecourt more gameable.

This is awesomely immersive.  I think immersion and minute detail is one of my personal weaknesses so I'm gonna have to come back here to take notes for when I work on some similar projects in the future.  This is the opposite of sterile and bland, looks very worn and lived in, and from such humble beginnings.  Now I need to take a closer look at some of those plastic 2 inch soldiers and accessories bags.

Well done, sir, but I am pretty sure the Sole Survivor would have scrapped the two cars...  ;)

I hadn't though to make my own Armor Stations yet - I am still mentally in Fallout 3 for terrain building.

Great terrain! Really impressive to get something so good-looking from something so ugly  :)

I think the space marine detracts from the piece, I would rather leave the PA repair station empty or buy a power armor from Vinnie. It is just not up to par with the rest of the piece.

Nice details, good choice of colours and clever use of a plastic building - the scale thing does not seem to be too much of a problem.
