The Last Valley
« on: November 09, 2016, 08:35:07 PM »
Thinking about painting some figures up to represent the characters from The Last Valley movie, with Michael Caine and Omar Shariff. Would need enough figures for two forces, The Captains ( Caine ) and the Rebels. I've been looking at TAG miniatures, some look really suitable. Any other ideas.

Try Bohemian Troops. Their TYW range is sculpted by Paul Hicks and is therefore excellent.

Foundry also do an old TYW range. The mounted arquebusiers and cuirassiers are nice but only one pose of each.

There's also the Perry ECW range. I've been tempted to do something with their Scots moss troopers (probably with head swaps) but have never taken the plunge.

Please let us know where you come out.

Sorry, I forgot to include Bicorne. Some of their ECW cavalry look suitable. I've got some myself sitting in the pile waiting for something to be done to them. I'm not grabbed by the horses, so will probably re-mount them - maybe on Perry or Calpe horses.

Just be aware that the Bicorne riders I have are bigger than the TAG ones. I don't know what they'd look like in the same unit. I'm assuming that if I base my Bicorne riders and my TAG riders on the same make of horse they'll blend in together, but I haven't got round to it yet so I can't say for sure. Certainly the sculpting style should match.
