Chronopia Figures question
« on: December 01, 2008, 09:56:29 AM »
I have been looking at the prince august site for the chronopia figures.

I have noticed that it lists some as very rare, does this mean they are in or out of stock generally?

any help would be appreciated.

thanks

I think that it means, that they have very few left.

It seems to me that they have bought the existing stock from Excalibur and perhaps some distributors, and that they only restock by that method, too.

That's why sometimes a mini that has been sold out for while suddenly reappears.
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

I will confirm what Argonor says I have picked up a lot of their Dwarves and as said they dont actually cast them and the packs come with the old blisters.

I only found out when I received a mini with a missing separate arm and asked if they could send a replacement as it was incorrectly packaged. Alas they couldnt and had to scrap all the packs in their stock as they dont make them :o they did send me replacements and are very good to deal with :D

So who does make them then, the prince august site says more to come soon, is it an old discontinued range?

thanks lowtardog I think I may get some Elves and sons of kronos, the dwarves are great too.

They were made by, first Heartbreaker, then Excalibur. But the rights are now owned by Fantasy Flight Games who opted to make a CMG in 40 mm (or so).

I do not think any new ones are cast at the moment (apart from maybe some unauthorized copies).

Actually, Ral Partha Europe sells large parts of the range, too. I have no idea if they're actually casting the figures or not.

As for the 40mm CMG, isn't that Warzone? Or are they making one for Chronopia as well?

FFG holds the license for the Mutant Chronicles (which is not the same as the license for Warzone apparently). They're making a CMG with 54mm prepainted models and quite honestly they look like cr*p. As far as I know they do not have any plans for the Chronopia setting.

You can also get them from Spirit Games in Burton on Trent.  The last time I visited, they had quite a few still in the original blister packs.

Prince August has the old stock and keep finding different codes as they get time to go through it all.Heartbreaker did the miniatures for Target games. When they went under Excelsior took over. They did a few new miniatures to fill in the gaps.

Thom has been sorting rules out for using other companies miniatures to expand the game.Heresy miniatures ones have been stated so far.

If you check the Excelsior Entertainment forums you might be able to get some miniatures you are missing from your forces. They are a very helpfull bunch.Link to the forums below.

Also look out for updates to the new project they are working on.
