Hello.
If you've been reading the workbench forum, you may know that a while ago I set up a poll concerning my next painting project. 20s investigators won by a noticeable margin so they'll be on my painting table soon. I've bought some extra minis and now there's a good selection of assorted adventurers in my lead pile. Well, monsters too, but this time we'll be talking about investigators. Namely, I thought someone else might be interested in similar models and sometimes size does matter. Therefore I took a pic of a bunch of models from various manufacturers.
(It's a huge pic. Click for a full version.)
Note: the ruler has been matched to the plastic slottabase level, but there's no compensation for integral bases. Some models gain a mm or two of extra from their thick bases, while the real slotta ones measure right from the sole.
The models and their codes (if still available):
1. Metal Magic/eM-4 Dunwich Detectives serpentman with revolver (2011c)
2. Metal Magic/eM-4 Dunwich Detectives adventurer/detective with pistol (2001f)
3. Artizan Thrilling Tales reverend Green (PLP094)
4. Artizan Thrilling Tales miss Greentree (PLP043)
5. Hasslefree White Metal (Michael Brand) insane man (HFW104)
6. Grenadier Call of Cthulhu adventurer D (-)
7. Grenadier Call of Cthulhu adventurer E (-)
8. Citadel Gothic Horror 1987 patrolman (-)
9. Citadel Gothic Horror 1985 peasant (-)
10. RAFM Call of Cthulhu gangster going insane (RAF02912)
11. RAFM Call of Cthulhu police (RAF02918)
Artizan and Hasslefree are fairly modern 28mm miniatures, whereas the rest are mainly 80s sculpts and closer to nominal 25mm or whatever you want to call that older scale. Nevertheless, I don't see any problem in using these all together. The scale differences aren't that distracting to me, but you can draw your own conclusions. That's what the pic is for.
If there's something you want to ask or any other comments then please do post here.
(BTW, I'm still looking for a secure online ordering method for Steve Barber miniatures...)
