The journey of a fantasist (new with Autumn Troll !)
« on: January 07, 2016, 08:09:36 PM »
So here I am, I've decided to get on board the Frostgrave train after many years with Warhammer. I really like painting small groups and warbands so Frostgrave is the perfect excuse to paint more I guess !

As any frostgrave team has to be lead by a good wizard and apprentice I think it's only natural I begin with them :

The wizard was first intended without tattoos :

But to tie him with the apprentice I've decided to give both Woad patterns :

I'll be adding models one after the other whenever I feel like it in order to avoid any pressure. The painting is willingly quick and easy without trying to overdo things or spend much time.
You can read more about the wizard HERE and more about his apprentice HERE.

You as well sir!

I started at the other end and have been busy making snowy terrain!

I guess we are looking at a witch or a summoner here though to be honest you could go with any of the schools and make it fit particularly because you get spells from so many other lists.

Great pair painted to your excellent standard.

The more I think about it the more I think he'll end up being a witch indeed. Terrain is always my weak spot hence why I didn't base them on a snowy ground...

Good job on some classics, JB. I like the minor conversion! I think the wolf pelt clad guy feels more senior though, or am I completely off? Pretty painting, as always!

Nice pair of minis, no school like old school! I particularly like the pale skin tones, really suit dabblers in the occult.
Adventures? Nasty disturbing uncomfortable things! Make you late for dinner!

Haven't posted this one here already and I'm about to use it in a campaign of Mordheim this WE. They are the Champions of Law based on th eold Warhammer lore when Chaos still had Lawful opposites. I've based this band mostly on Jes Goodwin sculpts to provide a strong coherence between sculpts from very different origins (Chaos, Eternal champions, Dwarves and all).

This group has evolved from a single test model to a full grown warband and I'm still working on a Greater Demon to add to the bunch.

Post one : The Test model

Post two : A new warrior

Post three : another warrior and a dwarf berserker

Post four : Heroic fighter from the old world and an elf archer

Post five : The limited edition warlock and Gladius from the heroic fighters

I've written a small tutorial on how I've painted them HERE

Cheers, they're really only speed paints, if you look at the tutorial you'll see there's nothing fancy in them, it's just the colour scheme works very well (beyond my expectations actually) !
