In plumbo veritas – Divining the wargaming year 2017!
« on: January 11, 2016, 01:30:00 AM »
I made it a tradition to ask the lead about my wargaming future.

This is how the ritual should be performed:

I got the following shapes:

I see an ear, a fireball and a slug. The last one could also be a crab claw.

If you want to give it a go yourself have a look on my blog for a light hearted tutorial (with some suggestions what the shapes could mean) as well as an overview of forthcoming tutorials in 2016:

Divining the wargaming year

Euch allen ein erfolgreiches 2016!

The ear represents GW finally listening to it's customers. The slug represents how fast they'll go to do anything about it.

But what about the crab claw? GW staff are also crab people? This might be a conspiracy...

Is GW USA still headquartered in Baltimore?  Baltimore is famed for its seafood (on occasion...)

Another year, another rite! Blessed be Azuth and Mystra, as they gave me the strength to fend off demons and to learn about my wargaming future.

Like last year I cleansed my body and mind and performed the arcane rite of molybdomancy!

This is what I got:

Clearly a penguin and a shell! Oh, unbeknownst are the ways of the Gods of magic, but here they show me a vision of the future.

I can perceive it clearly…water themed terrain will happen in some point down the line this year. Surprising really, as I had no intention to fashion some. King Triton will surely approve…

Apparently snow terrain is also prone to be covered this year! Glad I already did some experiments with snow and icicles. I even have a penguin miniature from a Kinder Surprise egg. Good, very good. Just as planned.

If you are interested in my plans for the blog in 2017 check out the link below. If not, no worries. Let me know what you think the shapes are. Maybe the lead fumes got to me in the end...

Ahh molybdomancy! Probably the oldest combination of spirituality and human industry ever. It makes a great pub ice breaker to pour candle wax from the table Into a pint of water and go round the table telling each others fortune.
never trust a horse, they make a commitment to shoes that no animal should make.

Never heard about the pub version, but sounds like a good ice breaker indeed! I also see why you wouldn't use proper metal in this case...alcohol and molten metal don't mix well.
